At a time when it seems like many producers and DJs are leaning more and more towards aggressive music, Afro Monk is doing just the opposite and bringing the romance back to the dance floor with downtempo sounds and chilled-out future beats. Combining fluid melodies, sultry rhythms and hypnotic bass, Afro Monk uses lush yet cutting-edge electronic beats to create a smooth and sensual vibe.
I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'm a Florida based Producer/Performer. My sound is a blend of everything I grew up listening to. Rock, jazz, and hip hop were the sounds that touched me the most in my developing years. I like to create electronic music inspired by samples of everyday sounds, hand drumming, and heavy synth sounds. I incorporate raw emotion with live keyboard playing in my performances. I call my musical style Bassfusion. I've supported (performed with) musical acts like Andreilien (Heyoka), Mobius 8, Govinda, David Starfire, Phutureprimitive, Bluetech, Breakscience, Del The Funky Homosapien, Satchi Om, Indovisual, Afrobeta, Dusthead, Sounduo, Y-Diz, Warp 9, Phantasman, Okulus Anomali, Subsqwad, Beatmachines and many more great artists.
